There is a multitude of things to do at Navy Pier! There are stores, restaurants, movie theaters, and of course the famous Ferris Wheel along with other rides and attractions. You can catch a boat and ride around Lake Michigan with a guide and find out all about the history of Chicago and its buildings.
Navy Pier was originallyfor recreational and shipping purposes and has since turned into a top notch entertaining spot. It is an historic piece of Chicago, it has undergone several "facelifts" to transform it to what it is today.
There is a children's history musuem, a shakespeare theater amongst other cultural attractions besides the shopping and eating I mentioned above.
I always loved checking out Pier's! The views are always so amazing, especially at night due to attractions usually being lit up. It is really cool that they utilize things like a Pier so wisely.
ReplyDeleteHey, I've been on that Ferris Wheel, you can definitely get a full overview of the pier when you reach the top. For a moment you think you're as high as you can go, until you turn around and see a towering building piercing the sky. I've probably spent like half my trip money at that pier.
ReplyDeleteWhen I was a kid I used to spend all my money on the pier too! I love Ferris Wheels to this day! There's something about being on the top and just standing still and taking in the surroundings that is just mesmerizing!
ReplyDeleteI really want to visit Chicago! All your posts are making me want to go more and more. My boyfriend and his family are from Chicago. He still has a lot of family there, and he is open to going and visiting. Hopefully in the next year I can make my way up there. Your blog can definitely help me plan my trip!
ReplyDeleteGreat! hope I am making a difference. There really isn't a "best" time to go, although its really HOT and HUMID in August!!!
ReplyDeleteI'm afraid a trip to Chicago is going to have to wait another year for me. As much as I love the city I'm allergic to "the hawk". As you already know that's the name for that coooold brisk wind as it comes off Lake Michigan. I'll say it again...I almost moved there til I remembered...winter is coming. I know...I'm a wuss.
