What to do in Chicago

When you arrive in Chicago the first time, you will probably be overwhelmed especially if you arrive by plane at O’Hare International Airport. This airport is crazy and one the nation’s busiest airports. I recommend taking a cab to your hotel. It is super crazy and super scary to drive in Chicago if you have never done it before! My goal on this blog is to try and educate you on all there is to do in Chicago from walking, biking, taking tours, shopping and taking in one of the local sports teams if you so wish. Hopefully, you are as excited about this as I am to write about one of my favorite places of all time ~Happy Reading!!!!

  1. I love Chicago and I highly recommend taking the subway/L/CTA trains (can't remember how most people refer to them) from the airport (either ORD or MDW) to anywhere in town, or to connections out of town. It is a great system and very economical. I think that $2.50 will take you as far as a $40 cab ride in a comparable amount of time. It is well worth your time to figure out how to master mass transit!

  2. Oh, man, does this take me back-- It was-- just before high school for me when I took a couple day visit to Chicago. We checked out all sorts of attractions; everything from the Navy Pier to the Sears Tower. There were a few museums which names escape me. And yes, we even took a train to get to Chicago all the way from Milwaukee, WI. First time being in a train station, it looked way too much like an airport.

  3. Chicago is a phenomenal city. I have quite a few relatives there and have visit them many times. There was always plenty to do but "Taste Of Chicago" was the most memorable event. I think I put on at least 10 pounds in two days. I almost moved there in the summer of 1990 but then I remembered...I moved from Michigan to the Southwest to escape the cold and winter was coming.

  4. I grew up in Illinois, but only made it up to Chicago a few times. The city was great once I got into the city proper. The roads in were always packed bumper-to-bumper.

  5. The Sears tower is my favorite place to visit, I love it because you can see the entire city from the top! I like to see it at night. The skyline is beautiful! I always take pictures of the chicago skyline at night everytime I go visit.

  6. I have never been there. I grew up in Massachusettes and never drove there. It will be interesting to see what type of attractions and events going on in a place I have never been. Being in vegas for so long has made me numb to "entertainment" attractions because everything here is so overdone and overhyped.
