Da Bears!

Anyone from Chicago knows how die hard fans we are! I love my bears! I have been a fan as long as I can remember, all though I was not born in Illinois, my family is from just north of Chicago and being a Navy dependent I moved around quite a bit. The only house that is still standing from when I grew up is my grandmothers house. Therefore, I call Chicago home! If I were to have any other team other than the Bears as my football team I would probably be disowned. With that being said, I have raised 5 boys and only one of them is a Bears fan! How that happened I don't know. I am very happy that one of them is at least. We have struggled for the last 25 plus years to make it from year to year never knowing whether or not we are going to be in the playoffs or not, we have cheered, jeered, and shed many tears over the Bears! This year though we are doing AWESOME!! I never count them out, but then again I never count them in! I don't bet on them nor do I bet against them!

  1. Oh yes. Living up in Wisconsin, whenever it came to discussing football, 2 teams always seem to stand out in rivalry; the Bears and the Packers. Not sure why it was those 2 specifically that we always paid our attention to. Even now while living in Nevada, whenever we watch any football, we're either rooting for the Packers or the Bears.

  2. Hey Trina. Your football situation sounds very similar to mine. My father was born and raised in Baltimore. At this time though, Baltimore residents were generally rooting for the Redskins, and so, he followed suit. My mom was born in Alabama, but raised in Baltimore, where she met my father. Well, my mom wasn't such a football fan, so she rooted for the Redskins for my dad. Now, here's where things get weird. My sister was born in North Carolina, but she, for some reason loved the 49ers. I started watching football with my sister, who's got 7 years on me, and since she rooted for the 49ers, I would too. It just stuck, and now I'm a very devoted fan to the 49ers, even though I was not born, raised, or lived longer than a few years in California, but they are my team. It's funny how we gravitate to certain teams for whatever reason, and it just sticks. Oh, and since the Ravens became Baltimore's team...my dad has become a serious fan, but the Redskins are still his number 1, and my mom has since become a die hard fan of Baltimore. We are like you're family though, in that we have a hefty list of teams to root for.

  3. Yea since the Redskins are closer to Virginia and my parents are in Virginia you would think that my dad would root for the Redskins but he doesn't. Its crazy!
